The 3rd Kazakhstan Neonatal Symposium “Bobek” was held in Kazakhstan. It is one of the key professional events in neonatology, bringing together leading specialists from both the country and abroad to discuss pressing issues related to preserving the life and health of newborns.
Over 460 specialists participated in the symposium, including 310 doctors and 50 nurses, in person, and approximately 100 participants online. The event covered virtually all regions of Kazakhstan, as well as several foreign countries, including Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Azerbaijan and France.
The scientific program of the symposium included 20 presentations and seven practice-oriented master classes, five of which were intended for doctors and two for nursing staff. Participants had the opportunity not only to learn about the latest advances in neonatal medicine but also to discuss the practical aspects of their implementation in clinical practice.
The key topics of the symposium included the introduction of modern neonatal care technologies, the development of neonatal and fetal surgery, as well as advances in pediatric cardiac, vascular, and neurosurgery. Particular attention was paid to the early diagnosis of congenital malformations and the importance of screening programs.
Experts noted that the introduction of innovative medical technologies is already having a significant impact on neonatal survival rates. This applies to both full-term and premature infants, including extremely low birth weight infants—one of the most vulnerable categories of patients.
The symposium served as an important platform for the exchange of experience between specialists, the discussion of clinical cases, and the development of joint approaches to solving the complex challenges of modern neonatology.
The event’s main goal – to consolidate the professional community in Kazakhstan and abroad, develop interdisciplinary collaboration and implement best practices in the healthcare system, was successfully achieved.
Holding such events helps improve the quality of medical care for newborns and strengthens Mother and Child health.
