The Clinical Academic Department of Surgery is a structural subdivision of the CF UMC responsible for surgical care for the adult population. The specialists of the department are engaged in practical, scientific and educational activities. There are doctors and candidates of medical sciences, PhD and masters of medicine in the CAD. Almost all doctors have the highest qualification category. As part of the CAD of Surgery, two units are distinguished, including "programs", these are the main areas of activity of the structural subdivision: 1. Inpatient Surgery Unit: 1.1. Multidisciplinary Surgery Program 1.2. Diabetic Foot Program 2. Outpatient Surgery Unit: 2.1. Hospital-replacing surgery program 2.2. Program of general ambulatory-consultative surgery In the Inpatient Surgery Unit, all assistance is provided within the framework of a round-the-clock stay of the patient in the center. The main profiles for inpatient care in both programs are: abdominal surgery, angiosurgery, urology, traumatology, interventional surgery, ophthalmology, transplantology, otorhinolaryngology, thoracic surgery, coloproctology, purulent surgery. The Diabetic Foot program is unique and the only one of its kind in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The program provides assistance to a socially vulnerable group of the population suffering from diabetes mellitus and its complications. The treatment of the Diabetic Foot Syndrome requires a high level of knowledge and experience from specialists, as well as the availability of expensive, modern equipment. Our center meets all these requirements. The hospital-replacing surgery program provides surgical care according to the “One day surgery” principle, when, after the surgery, the patient is allowed to go home on the day of the surgery, in rare cases, remains under observation for one night. This principle of operation implies the highest level of surgical skills of the doctor, the use of modern and minimally invasive techniques, as well as the availability of expert-class medical equipment. The program of general outpatient-consultative surgery provides consultative and diagnostic assistance to the adult and pediatric population in all surgical profiles. Our experts possess not only knowledge, but also skills of work on various diagnostic devices. Specialists of the CAD of Surgery on an ongoing basis undergo advanced training both in the leading clinics of the Republic of Kazakhstan and abroad. Only in 2021, specializations were completed in the largest clinics in Turkey, Germany, and Russia.
